Lean Manufacturing & Classic Kaizen

Summary

The central point of communication for specific actionable items required to be completed in the next 30 days. Used to ensure the documentation of both problems and solutions while assigning  responsibility to an individual. This log can be used to ensure that no improvements identified during the Lean Manufacturing Workshop go un-implemented.

Objectives

To track identified Lean/Kaizen problems and their solutions found during your improvement process that are not able to be immediately solved, but are important enough to be recorded and worked on at a later date.

Summary of Steps

  1. Begin improvement process
  2. If immediate action cannot be taken regarding an issue:
    • At the top, document the Start Date and Work Area
    1. Begin left to right with Date logged (the day the record is taken)
    2. Item number
      • Simple numbering systems work unless you have company specific numbering structures
    3. Problem
      • Any identified (not quickly fixed) problem
