A detailed form to succinctly define all the tasks necessary to perform a specific function. This includes, manual time, automated time, and walking time.
Objectives
To concisely chart the different elements of a work sequence and separates manual, auto, and walking elements of an operations sequence. This provides insight to show the flow of work in an analytical way.
Summary of Steps
- Go to the office, process, or gemba (the place the work is done) that you want to document
- At the top, document the part number, process name, date performed, daily demand (if known), work area involved, and Takt Time.
- Document step by step the process of a single item through a single process
- Note the activities differentiated as manual labor, automation, and walking time
- Using the legend in the top right illustrate the documented times
- Use a solid vertical red line to illustrate the cut off for Takt Time
- Dashed line for walking time
- Solid line for manual time
- Dotted line for machine time
- Double line for waiting time
- Total up the times at the bottom
