Summary
A detailed form to succinctly define all the tasks necessary to perform a specific function.  This includes, manual time, automated time, and walking time.

Objectives
To concisely chart the different elements of a work sequence and separates manual, auto, and walking elements of an operations sequence.  This provides insight to show the flow of work in an analytical way.


Summary of Steps

  1. Go to the office, process, or gemba (the place the work is done) that you want to document
  2. At the top, document the part number, process name, date performed, daily demand (if known), work area involved, and Takt Time.
  3. Document step by step the process of a single item through a single process
    1. Note the activities differentiated as manual labor, automation, and walking time
    2. Using the legend in the top right illustrate the documented times
      • Use a solid vertical red line to illustrate the cut off for Takt Time
      • Dashed line for walking time
      • Solid line for manual time
      • Dotted line for machine time
      • Double line for waiting time
    3. Total up the times at the bottom
