Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)

Summary
Provides a platform to summarize where and how often we need to inspect. This “high-level” document can be used in reference to an entire machine or it can be a specific device on the machine.

Objective
Using a “plan view”  the TPM Inspection Form supplies a perspective as to the location and type of inspection(s) needed.


Summary of Steps

  1. Fill in essential fields at the top

    1. Location of equipment
    2. Group
    3. Equipment name
    4. Leader (of machining area)
    5. Prepared (who filled out the form)
    6. Revision (if applicable)
  2. Draw machinery using assessment formatting at the bottom

    1. Daily (diamond)
    2. Weekly (square)
    3. Monthly (circle)
    4. Yearly (triangle)
    5. Safety (“medic” symbol)
    6. Morale (smiley)
    7. Visuals (eye)
  3. Add additional explanations concerning checks if appropriate
  4. Add visuals to show operators where to stand to inspect (footprints)
