Continuous improvement could enhance Minnesota healthcare workers

One of the most important skills at any workplace is the ability of employees to think broadly about the task at hand. When employees understand the goal of their jobs and their roles as employees in the grand scale of their companies, they will be able to come up with effective solutions to problems they may encounter as they work.

For some businesses, however, creating a culture of employees who think in that way may be a challenge. For instance, Healthforce Minnesota came to the conclusion that healthcare practices and hospitals will be able to operate better if their workers are able to think about the “whole picture” as they complete everyday tasks.

“The dividing line for many of the employees that succeed is the ability to think things through to the whole picture,” said Vickie Abel, representing Avera Marshall, as quoted by the Marshall Independent.

Employers can help their employees develop these skills through continuous improvement initiatives. Activities such as cross-functional teamwork exercises and employee engagement initiatives enable employers to change the way their workforces view their roles.
