A healthy company (both in terms of finances and workplace culture) starts from the ground up. A business that isn't empowering and engaging its workers is missing out on critical revenue opportunities.
As a study from Gallup notes, employee empowerment can have a huge impact on a company's return on investment. When observing the effects of productivity, profitability, safety and absenteeism, Gallup found that workplaces with a strong work culture have 3.9 times the earnings per share (EPS) growth rate compared to other companies with unengaged employees within the same sector.
Clearly, employee engagement has a strong financial benefit and can impact companies in a number of other ways as well – a better workplace offers a hiring incentive for talent, while happier workers may also lead to better products and services.
While there are a number of strategies employers can use to engage their workforces and create a better office culture, there is one clear underlying goal: Better communication. Ensure your employees feel they are valued parts of the organization and always offer them a way to voice their feedback.
